Focus on Mexico with Fun Activities for Children

Focus on Mexico with Fun Activities for Children

All month long we’ve been focusing on teaching our students about the Mexican culture. From music to art and everything else in between, our students at Rock and Roll Daycare are soaking up so much information and fun in the process.

We’re going to show you what we’ve been up to and tell you about how you and your children can also participate from home. Sound good? Here we go!

Mexican-Themed Activities

One fun activity we’ve been sharing with our students is the art of doing a puzzle. Puzzles are great ways for kids to learn about shape recognition and helps with things like being patient and setting goals. Even the smallest children can learn these skills. This is a look at one of the puzzles that are being done this month.

Coloring is also fun for kids of all ages. We’re offering a coloring page with a “Dia de Los Muertos” or “Day of the Dead” theme.

This Mexican holiday coincides with the Catholic celebrations of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Family and friends gather to pray for and remember those who have died.

Children are also learning about different parts of Mexican culture with different cards. These cards can help teach kids about things like the Mexican flag and Olmec Head.

By making activities interesting, kids will want to stick with them because they’re having fun. There’s even a sudoku page with a Talavera Tile theme. Talavera Tile is a hand-made and hand-painted ceramic tile that was carefully made by craftsman families in Mexico. Talavera tile dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries.

Get Involved

While all of these activities are being offered at our Rock and Roll Daycare centers, you can have a piece of the fun while you’re home with your kids. Check out our Instagram page where we highlight different activities. Our Fridays with Phil live series is also a great way for your child to get exposed to music from Mexico as well as fun crafts. We always have something interesting going on!

If you like what you see here and want your child to have experiences with different cultures, contact us at Rock and Roll Daycare. We’d love to share our teaching methods with you and how your child can benefit. You can also learn about our other programs. For more information, call us at 857-259-5211. We can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re not located near one of our centers, you’ll soon be able to order the Rock and Roll Daycare experience with our subscription boxes. Be sure to look out for that starting in June!
